'Letters to the Editor'

Scottish Parliament

Dear Editor, Who would be Prime Minister in this country? Infact who would want to be a Member of either Parliament. Is it not time the media gave our politicians no matter which party, the applause they deserve for undertaking an extremely difficult job. After all, how many people can stand up and say they enjoy being ridiculed and critisised each day. I bet there is no one of that ilk. So let them get on with what they have been elected to do and support them at all times. If people do not like what they are doing then do not elect them next time round.

Accident and Emergency

Dear Editor, I recently had cause to stay in hospital for a couple of days at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. I do not know why patients complain about hospital food as what I ate was appetising, delicious and beautifully cooked. Perhaps the trend nowadays is to eat greasy chips etc rather than good healthy food. No doubt if greasy food were to be obtainable at the hospital someone would complain about it. Well done the ERI and keep up the good work.

Forth Bridge on a good day

Dear Editor, I know the argument about a new Forth Crossing has been ongoing for long enough as your readers point out but we are now in the winter months of Gale Force Winds and treacherous weather. Traffic crossing the existing bridge cannot stand up to this kind of weather so what difference would a new bridge bring to the misery of attempting to cross in such weather. Perhaps a bridge that resembles the Forth Rail Bridge would be a bettr option, it is not often that trains do not cross the Forth because of bad weather.
