Dear Editor, In Scotland we have a wonderful system for 'Old Age Pensioners' it is called the Bus Pass. A trip from Glenrothes to Inverness and back by bus plus four nights in a hotel only cost me £66 all in. Now if the bus pass was not available for someone my age then I could not have made the trip. The fare would have increased the total outlay for the journey. Being a pensioner is not that bad after all. Name and address withheld

Dear Editor, I recently visited the South of France for my annual holiday and got quite a shock when paying for drinks etc. That area of Frane is known for its' costly expensive items but on this occasion my spending money did not stretch as far as I would have liked it. Because of the exchange rate betwen the pound and the euro we are missing out. Is it time we looked at changing our currency to the Euro? Personally I think not and feel we should just ride out the storm. Mr McFinnie, Aberdeenshire

Dear Editor, I hope this letter reaches you in time for the June publication. I am concerned about all the hype regarding 'Britains Got Talent' Show and the media coverage of contestants who show their emotions on television in front of millions of people. At least two young children cracked under the pressure, this proves to me that this age group should be on a children's version of the programme. The lady from West Lothian who has a wonderful voice was catapulted onto the media stage because of the surprise of what she could achieve vocally in comparison to the visual image she gave. For anyone to put themselves through such a trauma is one thing but to have the unwarranted criticism publicised all over the world is cruel. Name and address withheld
