www.scotland4me.net arose from the ashes of the Information Technologyy
recession of 2002. It was originally launched as a daily on-line
newspaper by Charles Litster, husband of the current editor Kate
Condie, who took over this roll after the IT industry started to
recover. She decided to change the direction of the website and
its' purpose by publishing it as a monthly magazine.
The main purpose of the magazine is to promote
places and the people of Scotland, this is achieved by featuring
new businesses in 'New Kids on the Block' page, entertainers and
venues of interest in the 'Out and About' page and publish views
of Scottish people in 'Letters to the Editor' page.
The magazine is not restricted to covering Scots
living and working in Scotland it also includes those who live and
work abroad.
Over the past eighteen months many different organisations
have been featured in its' pages along with the introduction of
new businesses and news items. The people of Scotland have a lot
to offer and without the support of scotland4me and other organisations,
would be unknown to the world.
Growing from a readership of a few dozen in May
2004, it has now achieved a monthly readership 10 thousand plus,
the majority of readers are based in America, however there is a
substatial readership from the United Kingdom, Canada and Sweden
along with another one hundred and twenty different countries throughout
the world.
The decision to translate the magazine into different
languages was taken at the beginning of 2005 and has proved to be
a valuable asset especially to our Russian readers. At the present
time www.scotland4me.net is translated into French, Russian and
Swedish, but this will change over the next few months when we introduce
Italian and German to our services.
The images on this page cover a collection of articles
published during the last eighteen months. To read the appropriate
articles just click through the archives which will take you back
to May 2004 and more.
