Bus passengers stranded

Following a rescheduling of the bus timetable in Fife, some bus services to rural villages are now less frequent than before. Some of these issues have been dealt with. However, the village of North Queensferry now has a bus service that runs every two hours instead of one.

This has left villagers
stranded in North Queensferry, Dunfermline and other villages for hours on end. What makes matters worse is that the route has been changed too! This all being done without any consultation. As s result villagers without cars are finding it difficult to shop, or to attend their doctor (may be in Rosyth) and it is said that children are forced to use the train to go to school! Meanwhile a petition is being organised by Inverkeithing and District Labour Party that has already been signed by many North Queensferry residents.

We have contacted the bus operator for comment and we had been promised a response today Friday 23rd August 2002. At 9.00 pm on Friday we still have had no comment.
