'Letters to the Editor'

Dear Editor, I am sorry for going on about the new election system in Scotland for local government positions as Councillors but I am not convinced the electorate in Scotland fully understand the workings of it and that includes myself. Why could we not leave things the way they were afterall, we knew the person to vote for and which political party they belonged to but all this transferring votes business is a nonsense. Perhaps the electoral commission want us to be confused?

Mr McFinnie Aberdeen

Dear Editor, It really annoys me when banks charge their customers extortionate amounts of money for incurred charges on minor overdrafts etc. It annoys me even more when I read in the newspapers that a member of Barclays Staff was paid a £25 million pound bonus. How is that justified? Hopefully the person concerned will donate most of it to charity because the payment they received was a charitable gesture by their employer!!!!!.

Dear Editor, A recent television programme showed a member of the Electoral Commission giving an interview regarding the new electoral system being used in Scotland in May. This person must be the only one in Scotland who is enthusiastic about the whole procedure and in my opinion appeared to be wet behind the ears and recently out of nappies. So what experience have they had and where did they get their logic from?
