'A Sense of Wellbeing'

Hazel Dorey who is a qualified therapist in the health sector became interested in complementary therapies from a desire to seek a less stressful and more relaxing life. Deciding to train in Reflexology, then in other therapies she discovered the beneficial and healing effects of regular treatments for herself and was soon keen to start her own practice.

With twenty eight years of experiencee in the caring professions Hazel has worked with both adults and children in settings such as the private and voluntary sector, local authority and the National Health Service.

Hazel is a member of the Complementary Therapists Association, and, as well as her complementary therapy qualifications, has a Masters Degree in Therapeutic Studies of Children and Young People, a C.Q.S.W., a Diploma in Applied Social Sciences and a Diploma in Drama. Hazel has also studied Child Psychotherapy at foundation level. She firmly believes that the power of touch is so needed in today's often impersonal and stress-filled world.

From many of the treatments Hazel specialises in, a favourite with her clients is 'HOT STONE THERAPY' which is a deeply relaxing massage where smooth, hot basalt stones are carefully applied to key points in the body. Heat from the stones relax the muscles, thereby making the massage more effective and intense.

Another favourite is 'REFLEXOLOGY' which is a precise form of massage which stimulates reflexes in the feet or hands and is said to correspond to particular parts of the body. It is a holistic therapy which helps restore the natural balance of the body and so promotes good health and wellbeing.

Many other therapies are available and these include REIKI and THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE to name but a few.

Hazel will travel free of charge to clients within a five mile radius of Dunfermline in Fife. To find out more about her work please contact her by e-mail at senseofwellbeing@googlemail.com.
