Mobile Networks (Lovingly called Mobinet) marketed as thenaq

It is not often you come across a new technical innovation that could be helpful to so many and so simple in concept. That is what Mobile Networks (thenaq) has achieved. Very simply it is a set of contacts that are expert in different business/community fields provided for you on your mobile phone. Basically the equivalent of a local directory on your mobile phone. Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce has made this software available to their members (see their website) and so has the Small Business Club.

Jim Edgar, from Edinburgh the inventor said he came up with idea after a friend said they would like to see Lothian bus times on their mobile. Jim developed this idea and then thought it would not take much to adapt this for use as a mobile networked business directory. This he did and he built the solution using Java software on a mobile phone. This then became the first alpha release of thenaq. Following on from this Jim in his efforts to improve the technology is developing an XHTML solution his second alpha release.

Should you wish to download his first version just follow this link and make sure you read all the instructions.
