Aberdeen City and Shire have just completed a new portal, using the state of the art technology, that quietly went live on Monday. Its purpose is to market Aberdeen - that is the City and the Shire (Rural Aberdeen) to the world. This is a joint venture with partners such as Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeenshire Council, Visit Scotland, Scottish Enterprise Grampian, Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce, Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, Robert Gordon University and the University of Aberdeen. The lead partner being Aberdeen City Council with funding provided from the City Growth fund through the Scottish Executive. The project was first suggested in 2004 and the Web Portal is went live in January 2007.

The Web Portal can be found at Aberdeen City and Shire.You will see sections that include information for Living, Business, visitors and Students. There is an extensive range of Video clips and footage from seven Web Cameras covering Aberdeen City and Shire and further afield. You can enjoy Aberdeen City and Shire as the place to rest, work and play.
