A selection of artists from China exhibit their works during this festive time bringing to Scotland, a variety of painting, sculpture and work using glass. 1st to 7th July 2008, Mendelssohn on Mull Festival, Isle of Mull. A selelction of open rehearsals, recitals and concerts performd by a group of young musicians on the edge of starting their professional careers, mentored by a group senior musicians. The festival boasts packed houses on the island which Mendelssohn admired. An event which forms part of the European PGA golf tour, Barclays Bank Scottish Open draws an outstanding selection of players from around the world. 19th to 20th July 2008, The Rat Race, Edinburgh. Hundreds of competitors from all over the UK and abroad will use the facilities of streets, waterways and hills in and around Edinburgh for this year's Rat Race. 19th and 20th July 2008, Dunstaffnage Music Festival, Dunstaffnage, by Oban. This two-day music festival has grown out of an informal party at Achnacloich near Oban. With a capacity of 4000 per day and full camping facilities, plans are in place for it to become an annual event, the festival will feature performances from 16 bands per day over two stages from 12 noon to midnight each day. An alternative music festival in Scotland offers a celebration of cult music and cult cinema within a relaxed, laidback family-friendly atmosphere, targeted at the more contemporary music fan. 19th and 20th July 2008, The City of Inverness Highland Games, Inverness.
