Wheelly Trolley

Dear Editor, I think those little suit cases on wheels should be banned from being taken onboard an aircraft other than stored in the hold. At check-in the luggage is checked for size incase it will not fit in the overhead locker, however before reaching the locker it is dragged through security and then trailed around the departure lounge by an owner who usually walks about with their head in the air and completely forgets that they are trailing a dangerous weapon with them. Needless to say there is no consideration for other passengers in the lounge as the wheelly bag owner walks in front of other passengers almost tripping them up and to add insult to injury looks at them as if they had committed a sin!!!!. If people cannot show care and consideration for others then ban this type of luggage from getting passed check-in and make all passengers aware that this item must be stored in the hold for the trip.

Bus Stop sign

Dear Editor, It is a great idea that all over 60s in Scotland can travel on public transport i.e. bus, free of charge and on trains at a reduced rate. A similar facility is available in various parts of England but I believe you must be a resident in the area you are travelling in. As many of us are encouraged to leave the car at home and use public transport it would be an asset to be able to use the free pass anywhere in the country. The Government should make sure all senior citizens, no matter where they reside in Britain, can access public transport by using the appropriate pass.

Train crossing a bridge

Dear Editor, While recently on holiday down in Cambridge, I read in the local newspaper that a stretch of electrical cable had been stolen from next to the railway line on the Birmingham to London route. No wonder our railways are in a mess when idiots steal the materials required to transport passengers from point A to point B. Does this mean that we now need to instal close circuit cameras along our rail network?
