6th March to 23rd March 2008, The Magners Glasgow International Comedy Festival, Glasgow. Glasgow's International Comedy Festival with over 150 events covering stand-up, theatre, film and special shows for children. City-wide venues from local community centres to city-centre theatres will host many of the performers from the already established to the next big thing. 14th to 16th March 2008, Niel Gow Festival, Dunkeld and Birnam. The Annual Niel Gow Festival was established in 2004 to celebrate the life and music of Perthshire's fiddle legend. 21st March to 13th April 2008, Dumfries & Galloway Wildlife Festival, Dumfries and Galloway. This festival continues to grow, with lots more events arranged to allow you to see some of the region's special wildlife, including the red squirrel, red kite and badger. Experienced wildlife watchers and beginners should find something of interest in the festival, and look out for a range of events for the whole family.

   

22nd to 24th March 2008, Girvan Cycle Race, Girvan. This Cycle Race is one of the best cycle road races in Britain and the only stage race on British Cycling's Premier Calendar elite road racing series. Almost 100 riders will take to the roads in four separate stages for a feast of racing amidst the spectacular scenery of south-west Scotland. 27th to 30th March 2008, Glasgow Art Fair, Glasgow. The biggest art fair in the UK outside London returns to George Square in Glasgow featuring over 40 galleries from around Britain and Europe, with over 1000 national and internationally renowned artists' work for sale. 28th March to 2nd April 2008, Edinburgh International Harp Festival, Edinburgh. The Festival features an exciting programme, with a line-up spanning Celtic nations, featuring particularly strongly. Specially commissioned work along with more familiar favourites in a series of concerts, courses, workshops and an exhibition, all celebrating this oldest of Scottish instruments. Throughout the year to 16 Nov 2008, The Local Word and Image 500 Years of Printing in Scotland, Aberdeen. 2008 brings with it celebrations of 500 years of printing in Scotland.
