Glasgow. This festival has as established
a reputation for staging talented people who have gone on to become
big favourites with Americana style music. Country, folk, bluegrass,
jazz and blues music has always been popular in Glasgow, and Big

provides visitors with a wide variety of routes, with a walk to suit

A worldwide known annual celebration of traditional and
contemporary folk music, which is now in its 24th year. Very talented

May to the end of July 2006, CowParade Edinburgh. The
CowParade comes to Edinburgh, bringing up to 100 colourful cow sculptures
and statues displayed in the streets, parks and historic locations
of City. Artists are encouraged to create works of art to inspire
and raise a smile from locals and visitors. The finale of the CowParade
Edinburgh involves many of the cows sold at a gala auction with 75%

& 28th May 2006, UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, Fort William. The
Nevis Range Ski Area is the spectacular setting for the thrilling
UCI Mountain Bike World Cup event, featuring Downhill, 4-Cross and

A two-day rally through the challenging forest stages around Dumfries
& Galloway, this is a round of the British and Scottish Championships.
This international motorsport event is running for the 61st time in

to 25th June 2006 Royal Highland Show, Ingilston, Edinburgh. Scotland's
premier farming and food event promises this year to be even bigger
and better than before. The event covers four days with over 4,000
livestock on show and 1,000 stands selling everything from speciality
foods to 4x4s. There's a variety of entertainment and demonstrations

June to 2nd July 2006, Game Conservancy Scottish Fair, Scone Palace,
Perthshire. With competitions, displays and demonstrations,
the fair is one of the main countryside events of the year in Scotland.
Traditional country contests of shooting, fishing and gundogs feature
on a varied programme alongside quad biking, military re-enactment
displays, food and drink fair, shopping and children's activities.

Highland Games, 2006 World Masters Championships, Inverness.
