Walkfest '06

Pipe Band

25th to 28th May 2006, Orkney Folk Festival. A worldwide known annual celebration of traditional and contemporary folk music, which is now in its 24th year. Cow Parae Edinburgh
Mid May to the end of July 2006, CowParade Edinburgh.   The CowParade comes to Edinburgh, bringing up to 100 colourful cow sculptures and statues displayed in the streets, parks and historic locations of City. Artists are encouraged to create works of art to inspire and raise a smile from locals and visitors. Mountain Bikes
27th & 28th May 2006, UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, Fort William. The Nevis Range Ski Area is the spectacular setting for the thrilling UCI Mountain Bike World Cup event, featuring Downhill, 4-Cross and Cross-country events. 2nd - 4th June 2006 Gardening Scotland The Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh. The show celebrates its 7th anniversary in 2006. Scottish Car Rally
9th to 10th June 2006. RSAC Scottish Rally. Dumfries & Galloway. A two-day rally through the challenging forest stages around Dumfries & Galloway, this is a round of the British and Scottish Championships. This international motorsport event is running for the 61st time in 2006, and this is its tenth year successive year in Dumfries & Galloway. Common Riding
9th June 2006 onwards, Common Riding Festivals. Hawick 9th & 10th June, Selkirk 16th June, Langholm July tbc, Lauder 5th Aug 2006 Scottish Borders. These celebrations represent the ancient practice of marking a town's boundaries and continue today as distinctive and colourful expressions of civic pride and tradition. Each Borders town celebrates its history with magnificent rideouts involving hundreds of horses, ridden with a passion worthy of the reivers old.

Royal Highland Show
22nd to 25th June 2006 Royal Highland Show, Ingilston, Edinburgh. Scotland's premier farming and food event promises this year to be even bigger and better than before. The event covers four days with over 4,000 livestock on show and 1,000 stands selling everything from speciality foods to 4x4s. Scone Palace
30th June to 2nd July 2006, Game Conservancy Scottish Fair, Scone Palace, Perthshire. With competitions, displays and demonstrations, the fair is one of the main countryside events of the year in Scotland. Traditional country contests of shooting, fishing and gundogs feature on a varied programme alongside quad biking, military re-enactment displays, food and drink fair, shopping and children's activities. Motorvation
