This month we could not resist introducing our
readers to Heather Butlin who makes handpainted silk artwork. Heather
comes from the Black Isle in the Highlands of Scotland and her designs
are inspired by local wildlife and Celtic legends plus other elements
in the area.
Heather runs workshops for the newcomer and the
accomplished artist. You will find her giving workshops in schools
and community groups. Her students can make items for example Christmas
cards and paintings for framing to take home or work on a group
project.
In her website www.heatherbutlinsilks.co.uk
you will find many samples of work carried out by local groups from
banners created by local primary schools to 'Poetry in Silk' wall
hanging made by adults as well as children to celebrate National
Poetry Day.
When you visit the Gallery you will be pleasantly
surprised by the items offered for sale, there is something for
everyone especially the Chrsitmas Gift with a difference. Heather
has a selection of cards, scarves, ties, cushions and paintings in her
on-line shop which can be accessed via her website and provides
a secure shopping area. All goods purchased can be delivered throughout
the world.
