University of Dundee Museum Collections

Since it opened in 1883 the University has been acquiring unique and fascinating collections of fine art, natural history, scientific instruments and medical equipment. These are on show to the public around the campus in a variety of permanent displays and temporary exhibitions.

On show in September are:

Happy Birthday Beano - the official 70th anniversary exhibition which runs until 20 September

James Maclaren, Dundee Architect - exploring the work of Victorian Dundee's leading architect is on until 22 September

Paul Reid - stunning paintings by one of Scotland's most distinctive artists commences 26 September

Also don't miss the D'Arcy Thompson Zoology Museum which is part of the College of Life Sciences's School of Learning & Teaching in the basement of the Carnelley Building, immediately behind the University Tower. The museum is open to the public on Friday afternoons until 12 September and the Tayside Medical History Museum at Ninewells Hospital (open Mon-Fri every week).
