During the holiday season when people visit other countries to have a break from the tiresome routine of every day life at home, leaving pets behind can become a problem. However, in Fife, Scotland, this problem no longer exists for cat owners as they now have the opportunity of calling on 'Bay Cat Sitters' to alleviate the problem. This month Scotland4me.net introduces its' readers to a new business run by Shona and Harry Gordon, here is Shona's story as to how it all began:- "Hi there cat lovers! Let me introduce myself to you. My name is Shona Gordon and I moved to Dalgety Bay in Fife with my husband Harry, about twenty years ago. We relocated from Glasgow because of my husband's employment. I was intoduced to an organisation called 'Cats Protection' and helped to set up one of the organistions charity shops in Rosyth, Fife. This was ideal for me as an ardent lover of our feline friends. It gave me an insight into all aspects of owning and looking after cats, two in my case, Gizmo and Saffy. In my ten years as manageress of the charity shop and after many years of fundraising at local church fayres, collecting donated cat food from the local supermarkets, shaking cans in all weathers, I have made so many good friends including customers, fosterers or just cat lovers. We are all 'like minded' and have cat welfare at heart. Not long ago I decided to start my own busines called 'Bay Cat Sitters' where I look after cats whose mums and dads are away for various reasons such as holiday, business or visiting relatives or friends. Owning cats myself I believe their comfort and well being is of the utmost importance, therefore I visit the cats in their own homes and attend to their daily needs such as feeding, watering, cleaning, medication, talking to and playing with them (my favourite part). This allows them to be in familiar suroundings, in their own bed, happy and contented. I also offer other services such as opening and closing curtains, collecting mail and tidying up, and if you wish a welcome back pack of groceries we can arrange that too. Whatever you require just let me know. Mind you I sometimes forget the clients names, but never the cats. You can catch us on our website www.baycatsitters.com where you will see photographs of some of my contented clients and feline friends and will give you an idea of what "Bay Cat Sitters" can offer you across the bridge.
