On Sunday 25th July 2004 Larissa Volkovinskaya and her daughter Natasha arrived at Edinburgh Airort accompanied by ten children, having travelled from the Gomel region of Belarus via Gatwick. They were met in Fife by host families from Dalgety Bay, North Queensferry, Comrie, Pitreavie, Gowkhall and Glenrothes with whom they would spend the next four weeks. The travel costs were met by CHERNOBYL CHILDREN LIFE LINE Dunfermline and West Fife Link. The aim of having the children visit Britain is to allow them respite from the fallout of the Chernobyl disaster which affects every family in Belarus. The Charity not only cover the cost of travel but also arrange activities and visits to places of interest that the children will enjoy plus lots more............
