Dear Editor,
The latest diatribe is to sell off Scottish water. The stupidity of that
thinking really does not surprise me at all. Lets see what privatisation
of water has done in England. Huge wage rises to the directors. The investors
profits come first. i.e. Banks, Insurance companies, etc. Profits you
can only dream of in Billions of pounds. And now the benifits to the customers.
A continual system of drought nearly every year. Bills for water, sky
rocketing. Massive leaks of water through unmaintained pipes OOPS !!!
customer has to pay more for them to be repaired, not "investors"
. And a proposal just coming through is to cut off the water supply to
ANYONE who`s bill has not been paid on time ,without going through the
court system. I wonder how the executive are going to escape from this
one.

Dear Editor, I recently had to make a number of visits
to one of Edinburgh's busiest hospitals for treatment and was most surprised
by the parking charges incurred for my visits. I urge all patients and
visitors who think along the same lines, boycott the parking areas and
either use other transport, if available, or other car parks within walking
distance. It is bad enough having to face a regular lengthy journey for
treament you are worried about without having to worry about how you can
afford to do this.

Dear
Editor, On a recent trip to Scotland I found evidence of a country that
is always gripped in traffic congestion most of the day, especially your
Forth Road Bridge, it was a nightmare trying to get to the other side
at 4.30 in the afternoon (Road works during tourist season?). I did hear,
while over in Scotland, that transport departments are looking at an alternative
to the bridge, why do you not have any ferries transporting people to
and from the Fife side to Midlothian?
