Dear Editor,
Well at long last we now have a new Prime Minister, Gordon Brown from
Fife. I cannot remember the last time this country had a Prime Minister
who was born and bred in Scotland but at my age my memory is not all it
used to be. Let's hope that Britain can now move forward and succeed to
the extent that the word Great can be put back in it's rightful place.

Dear Editor, All this talk about Poll Tax, Community
Tax and any other Council Tax is easily resolved by replacing it with
a title ommitting the word TAX. We all shudder when hearing the word tax
in any context and I think people would feel more comfortable with a discription
title of perhaps 'Community Rates' afterall, we did not complain when
we used to pay 'Rates'.

Dear
Editor, It is a shame that all the members of the Scottish Parliament
cannot agree on fundamental things like trying to improve transport issues
in Edinburgh. A tram system would be nice but is it necessary, afterall,
we do need new school buildings, improved road surfaces and another crossing
from the coast of Fife to Edinburgh. The Parliament should be making sure
the Scottish people get 'value for money' when spending it's coffers and
along with this follow good sense.
