Carving Competition, Carrbridge, Highlands. The
Scottish Open Chainsaw Carving Competition alias 'Carve Carrbridge'
as it is known, welcomes competitors from across the UK. Detailed
sculptures are carved from logs using only chainsaws. There will

to her homeland for a four date tour of Scotland with the Royal

16th September 2007 Juvenile Diabetes Research
Foundation (JDRF) Scottish Walk to Cure Diabetes, Hazlehead Park,
Aberdeen. Last
year the walk raised over £200,000 and with your help 2007 can
raise even more money for a cure.
This year will be the 5th Annual Scottish Walk and will take
place on Sunday 16th September 2007. The Scottish Walk to Cure Diabetes
is the biggest JDRF fundraiser in Scotland, and your chance to make
a real difference in the lives of people with type 1 diabetes. Details

23rd September 2007, The World Stone Skimming
Championships 2007, Easdale Island, Argyll, Scotland. This
is an annual event. People of all ages and any level
of skill can enter. Competitors are allowed 5 skims using specially
selected Easdale slate skimming stones. To qualify, the stone must
bounce at least three times - it is then judged on the distance

20th to 30th September 2007, Glass Art, Lauriston
Castle, Edinburgh. People in Glasshouses is a collection of
works from graduates of the Glass Department of the Edinburgh College
of Art. The exhibition looks at the uses of glass as a medium for
artists through techniques like casting painting and glass blowing.
Admission is free and the exhibition is open from 11am to 6pm every

23rd September 2007, Rugby World Cup Scotland
vs. New Zealand, Edinburgh. Two pool matches within the Rugby
World Cup, the world's third biggest sporting event after the Olympics
and the Football World Cup are coming to Murrayfield this year.
This pool C match will see Scotland play the New Zealand All Blacks
in what promises to be an enthralling display of International rugby.

Northern Lights Festival, Durness, Sutherland. Three days

Book Festival, Wigtown, Dumfries and Galloway. The Scottish
Book Town Festival is a celebration of the written word in Wigtown,

of a million books. The Wigtown Festival prompts a mass migration
