"A monthly business club for businesses to share ideas and information, no matter the size, type and age of the business". quote from Weekly Newsletter. I recently discovered an organisation in Scotland who help small businesses to become more active in networking and meeting other like minded people. Janet Torley, who organises many of the regular events for The Small Business Club members, sends out weekly newletters with all the up to date information about what is happening in the club circles. editor Business Inspiration 'For those who have attended one of The small Business Club lunches, you will know that you always leave the event with at least one more piece of practical and useful knowledge to help your business. In keeping with this theme, we have ensured that visitors to The Business Showcase in Glenrothes on 8 & 9th September can also take away more business knowledge with them. The small Business Club is really pleased to have secured the services of some of Scotland’s and the UK ’s top entrepreneurs and business thinkers who will give a range of seminars over the two days – and it is all FREE! – we do recommend that you reserve your places though as these are bound to be extremely popular.' Question Time Forth Valley 'Following the highly successful Question Time hosted recently in Fife by The small Business Club with a great mix of politics, press and small business representatives, The Forth Valley small Business Club will be staging a similar event on Wednesday 13th September. Over 50 business owners and entrepreneurs came to Fife so this is bound to be a really exciting and well attended event. Priority will be given to members and their guests for tickets' Four in less than a Year! The small Business Club is delighted to announce the opening of its FOURTH club in Scotland on September 20th at Airdrie, North Lanarkshire. Janet Torley, founder of The small Business Club said that the club opening in North Lanarkshire was in response to demand from other organizations in the area who have seen the need for an informal and affordable business networking club in North Lanarkshire. Janet says that the club will continue to provide inspiring and informative events and that she is really excited about the prospect of developing in to new areas. The small Business Club has seen phenomenal growth since its inception last autumn. The format of informality with information all delivered in an inexpensive package hits just the right note with many smaller businesses eager to grow and develop their skills and contacts. Janet said that there are plans afoot to offer more specially tailored development packages for small business with the launch of the “Maximise Profit – the Next Level” series of workshops in the autumn. These sessions will again be highly effective and accessible to small business delivered by members for members and visitors. Janet says “I would like to grow more clubs across Scotland during 2007 and I would love to hear from people who might be interested in setting up a club in their own area. We are developing a superb package to make it easy to bring the unique formula of The small Business Club to anywhere in Scotland with a business community” extracts from recent Newsletters.
