Existing style of light buld in light fitting

Dear Editor, this business about banning our well used style of light bulb is utter nonsense and will, I believe, cause panic buying of the existing style of light bulb from every shop. From what I have seen and maybe I am wrong, these energy efficient lightbulbs are an eyesore to look at, make the work you have spent designing your decor etc a waste of time and do not make for a cosy atmosphere in a room. Infact, they are dull (giving the user bad light to read) ugly and totally unnecessary. Only a lonely MEP and their committe could have come up with something like this. Another waste of time and people have been paid to think this up!!!!!.

New style light bulb

Dear Editor, I think the UK are just wakening up to the fact the our light bulbs are becoming extinct. Edison will be turning in his grave and thinking to himself, 'what rubbish is this, an energy efficient lightbulb that does not light up a room'?. Exactly, I tried them out and quite honestly, will not have them in my house again. These bulbs are unsightly, dull and really not worth the money. I encourage all Brits to go out and buy as many as they can store. The next best thing is candles, at least they can smell nice.

Lamp using low voltage bulb

Dear Editor, Well I should have known that if I left things to the last minute my local shop would be sold out of light bulbs, that is the ones we have used for years. Now I will need to travel to the nearest city to find a stock of the bulbs I require. I do not like the look of these new ones and I certainly do not want them in my house.

regards, Mrs K Litster, Scotland
