Dear Editor,
as a frequent traveller on GNER service from Edinburgh to Aberdeen, I
was most heartened to discover this service will provide Wi Fi facilities
for its passengers from August 2006. A much needed facility allowing passengers
to access their e-mails etc via their laptop computer while on the move.
Hopefully while this is being installed GNER will upgrade all their carriages
to give access to an electricity supply otherwise time on the internet
etc will be limited to the time allowed before the laptop computer battery
power shuts down.

Dear Editor, while visiting Aberdeen the other day I
was amazed to discover that while using my laptop in one of the City Centre
cafes, I was able to access my e-mails etc via the Wi Fi system, Aberdeen
City Council have installed throughout the city. Great news for the busy
executive who is constantly reviewing their e-mail box. I also noticed
the Council had installed 'IKiosks' at strategic points within Union Street,
these are there to provide information to tourists and citizens.

Dear Editor, some weeks ago the Royal Scottish National Orchestra held
their Proms concerts in Edinburgh and Glasgow during the performances,
five pieces of music, intended as prospective entries for a Scottish National
Anthem, were presented for members of the public to vote on. Access to
the voting system was made by visiting the RSNO website. Having recently
viewed the outcome of this exercise I stumbled on the FORUM pages which
contain interesting arguements as to why we should have our own Anthem
and which one it should be. A very interesting read indeed.
