Dear Editor,
I read with interest the arguments for and against the introduction of
trams in Edinburgh. I personally feel that £600M is a bit too much
to spend on such a scheme as there are other more pressing priorities
to be taken into account. For example the roads north of Perth no matter
which side of Scotland you travel on are not of the quality required to
accommodate large vehicles. It makes more sense to me to spend the money
on improving the main road structure, afterall do the residents of Edinburgh
need a tram system? No. The lack of imagination and foresight from some
of our politicians will cost the city dear.

Dear Editor, I had the pleasure of travelling across
the River Forth in the hovercraft being trialled in July. Although it
proved popular with tourists and visitors many business people suffered
as a result. It only took twenty minutes to travel from Portobello to
Kirkcaldy but when I arrived in Kirkcaldy there was inadequate transport
to take me to the end of my journey. I spent another forty minutes trying
to get home to Inverkeithing. I do hope this service will be introduced
permanently with an all year round service. Hopefully the organisers will
provide adequate transport to compliment this.

Dear
Editor, One minute the tolls are being scrapped the next minute they are
not. Only recently a new toll system was built at the cost of approximately
£6M now again there is talk of scrapping the tolls? What is going
on? Who is spending all this money and wasting it? Whoever it is there
needs to be an enquiry into the spending of public funds and a stop put
to all this nonsense.
