Mid May to the end of July 2006, CowParade
Edinburgh. The CowParade comes to Edinburgh, bringing
up to 100 colourful cow sculptures and statues displayed in the
streets, parks and historic locations of City. Artists are encouraged
to create works of art to inspire and raise a smile from locals
and visitors. The finale of the CowParade Edinburgh involves many
of the cows sold at a gala auction with 75% of proceeds going to

Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh. The show celebrates its
7th anniversary in 2006. More than 30,000 visitors are expected

to 10th June 2006. RSAC Scottish Rally. Dumfries & Galloway.
A two-day rally through the challenging forest stages around Dumfries
& Galloway, this is a round of the British and Scottish Championships.
This international motorsport event is running for the 61st time in
2006, and this is its tenth year successive year in Dumfries &

to 25th June 2006 Royal Highland Show, Ingilston, Edinburgh. Scotland's
premier farming and food event promises this year to be even bigger
and better than before. The event covers four days with over 4,000
livestock on show and 1,000 stands selling everything from speciality
foods to 4x4s. There's a variety of entertainment and demonstrations
in skills such as cookery and crafts, falconry and fashion. Visit

June to 2nd July 2006, Game Conservancy Scottish Fair, Scone Palace,
Perthshire. With competitions, displays and demonstrations,
the fair is one of the main countryside events of the year in Scotland.
Traditional country contests of shooting, fishing and gundogs feature
on a varied programme alongside quad biking, military re-enactment
displays, food and drink fair, shopping and children's activities.

Country Music International recently referred to Gail Davies as "One
of the most important and influential female singer/songwriters to
have been involved in country music in the past 20 years." She
was the first woman to produce her own records and is cited by current
divas Kathy Mattea, Susy Boggus and Pam Tillis as their role model,
the person who kicked open so many of the closed doors on Music Row.

is a dynamic vintage/classic car show, staged annually at the Grampian

Youth Festival, Aberdeen. A celebration of the best youth

4th to 26th August 2006,Edinburgh Military
Tattoo, Edinburgh. Scotland's stunning annual outdoor military
spectacular with its' magnificent backdrop of Edinburgh Castle.
The Tattoo has been referred to as the most spectacular show in
the world and is watched by an international TV audience of 100
million every year. There is no substitute for being there, as part
of the 217,000-strong audience over its three-week season on the

13th August to 3rd September 2006, Edinburgh
International Festival, Edinburgh. One of the greatest celebrations
of the arts, the Edinburgh International Festival offers a unique
opportunity to experience the excitement of live performance by
internationally renowned artists as well as the joy of discovering
new and unfamiliar works. A rich programme of classical music, theatre,
opera and dance is staged in major theatres and concert halls and

17th to 28th August 2006, Marymass Festival,
Irvine, Ayrshire. This is one of the biggest community events
of its kind in Scotland, it offers a wealth of special events and
activities, which includes 'The Pageantry of the Marymass Parade'
with its origins in medieval times. Horses from the local carters
pull the parade floats. The torchlit procession, the folk festival,
sports events, music festival and horse racing are among the items
