Dear Editor,
It is with sadness that I find the Department Store, Esslemont and McIntosh,
Union Street, Aberdeen, is closing it's doors to the public after over
one hundred years of trading. Although the town does house other department
stores none hold the same historical importance as E & M's, as it
is affectionately known in the area. Many people thought a buyer would
be found for this establishment but apparently not and the store finally
closes on 5th May 2007.

Dear Editor, Nowadays there are only a handful of courteous
drivers around the country, special parking spaces are allocated for disabled
drivers but are frequently used by able bodied people. Why is there such
an abundance of inconsiderate people who seem to take pride in using a
space that is not appropriate to them. I just hope that one day they do
not find themselves the holder of a disabled persons badge and cannot
find a parking space for love nor money. I have enclosed a photograph
of two cars parked in a disabled drivers space in an expensive area in
Bridge of Don, Aberdeen. Believe me there were plenty of other vacant
spaces to be used but perhaps they were not close enough to the property?

Dear
Editor, In one day I received over fifteen pieces of paper relating to
the Scottish Parliament and local authority elections. The fact that the
Electoral Commission changed the way we end up with our elected representatives
for local councils I feel they have contributed to the mass production
of paper and are responsible for most of our trees disappearing. In my
area instead of one person looking after a number of the population we
now have four people doing the same job.
